What people always ask us.
Do we need to replace the gate or motor?
No. Konomic connects to the "open" contact of your existing controller. Compatible with any motorised setup that accepts an external dry contact — which covers virtually every commercial model from the last 20 years. If your controller is very old, the pre-installation visit confirms compatibility.
What if we're not convinced in the first month?
We refund the full first fee and remove the equipment at no cost. No penalty, no fine print, no required justification. Only condition: notify us in writing within 30 days of service activation. It's how we show confidence in the product without locking you in blindly.
What if the power goes out?
A motorised gate doesn't work without power regardless of the access system. On Estándar and Avanzado plans we include a UPS that keeps Konomic active during the outage and logs it. When power returns, the system is operational instantly.
What if mobile coverage drops?
On Estándar and Avanzado we use dual SIMs from two different carriers. Simultaneous failure is negligible. Worst case, the device keeps the authorised list locally and continues opening the gate while connectivity restores.
How many numbers can I add to the list?
Depends on the plan: 100 on Click, 200 on Tap, 400 on Esencial, 1,000 on Estándar, and unlimited on Avanzado. If you outgrow it, upgrade anytime at no migration cost and without restarting the contract.
We have multiple gates. How is pricing structured?
Each plan includes one gate in the base price. Additional gates cost €40/month each and connect to the same Konomic device by cable (up to 50 m) or wireless link (up to 500 m). Esencial supports up to 2 gates total, Estándar up to 4, and Avanzado has no practical limit. If your gates are far apart, we evaluate a distributed setup with an additional installation fee.
What happens with residents' personal data?
Phone numbers and access logs are stored encrypted on servers located exclusively in the European Union. Only the community president and authorised administrators access the console. We sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) under GDPR Article 28 with each community.
How is it installed? How long does it take?
We coordinate a free technical visit with your administrator or president to confirm feasibility. Installation takes 1 to 2 hours. Configuration is completed remotely from our panel.
Do residents need an app or smartphone?
On Click and Tap plans, no — the system works with any phone that can make calls, including old ones. To manage guests or view the access log there is a responsive web app (Konomic Web). On Esencial, Estándar and Avanzado plans, a native iOS and Android app is also included, with a remote open button protected by Face ID or Touch ID — useful when you're on a call with a courier or guest and don't want to hang up.
Do foreign phone numbers work?
Yes. The system accepts any international number with a country code (+34, +49, +44, +7, etc.). This is particularly relevant in the Canary Islands, where many owners keep their home-country number. Each owner manages their own number from the web app.
If I sell my flat, does the new owner inherit my access automatically?
Not automatically — for security, access doesn't transfer. The president or administrator removes the old owner's number and adds the new one from the web in under a minute. The change is logged with date and author.
How is billing handled? VAT or IGIC?
Monthly or quarterly billing per community preference. For Canary Islands communities we apply IGIC at 7%; for mainland Spain, VAT at 21%. The invoice is issued to the Comunidad de Propietarios with the corresponding tax ID.
Does it work for multiple separated buildings?
Yes, but the setup changes. If buildings are within 500 metres of each other, a single Konomic install can serve multiple gates via wireless link. If buildings are further apart or fully independent, we recommend Konomic Avanzado in distributed mode (one device per location, cloud-synced). We assess this in the pre-installation visit.
What about the current concierge? Do we need to cancel a contract?
If you have an external phone concierge (CRA), we help manage the transition. We run both systems in parallel for the agreed period to verify migration stability before terminating the old service.
Can I open the gate from my phone without making a call?
Yes, from the Esencial tier onwards. The native app (iOS and Android) and Konomic Web include an "Open gate" button protected with biometric authentication. Typical case: you're talking to a courier or guest, you open the app, Face ID or Touch ID, tap the button, and the gate opens in under a second without hanging up the call. Each opening is logged with the "app" tag in the audited log, separate from Caller ID or DTMF PIN openings. On Click and Tap plans, residents can manage the authorised phone list from Konomic Web but do not have the remote open button.
